The third edition of the Raqs Sharqi contest-The star of the Oriental dance is even more exciting than the previous editions and is enriched with a day of training with some of our judges (for more information on the "Raqs Sharqi contest ... Internships "click here).
Judging the dancing stars who will alternate on our stage on 24 April 2017 an extraordinary technical jury composed of:
-Saad Ismail. Heir of the great Masters Ali El Gendi and Mahmoud Reda. In 1979 he moved to Italy to make known and divulge the Egyptian folklore dance in the beautiful country too. It is considered in fact the pioneer of Arabic dance in Italy. It creates a real method of teaching, coding an extremely precise technique aimed at "cleanliness" and naturalness of the movement, taking the aesthetics and elegance, connecting mind and body.
In 2000 he founded the Ismail Oriental Dance group. He regularly holds seminars in the main Italian cities and also abroad at international congresses and festivals.
He works in numerous films, dramas, TV shows, documentaries and theatres as an actor.
-Irene from Mario. From 1999 he began studying Middle Eastern dance. She graduated in expressive Arabic Dance ® at the Opus Ballet in Florence. Stable teacher and founder member at AIDA Accademia Italiana Danza Arabo
-Gaja Carofiglio. He studied dance for 15 years, starting with the classic, continuing with the jazz moder and meeting in the 2009 east. His greatest passion is the American Tribal Style that pushes her into the 2015 to undertake a study trip to the Usa, where she obtained the certification as a teacher according to the spends method....

Second Edition - 31 January 2016


After the great success of the first edition, on 31 January 2016 comes the second edition of the competition to enhance the best talents of Oriental dance.
Technical jury
Judging these talents a technical jury composed of established teachers of our territory:
President of the technical jury Anastasia Francaviglia-Sicilia/Roma: Dancer and teacher, expert in music and history of Oriental dance. Graduated in cultural anthropology he wrote a thesis on the origins and the syncretic characters of the belly dance. Training in Expressive Arabic Dance ®, Danza Duende ®. Dancer for various musical projects including the Takadum Orchestra, collaborator of Maestro Simone Pulvano with whom he created the format dance for rhythm, rhythm for dance. Founder and stable teacher, together with Irene Da Mario of the Italian AIDA Accademia Arabic Dance ® A.I.D.A. writes articles and essays for the BLOG ladanzaorientale.com.
Nami de Luca-Lecce. Dancer, choreographer, teacher. Formed in Cairo with the greatest dancers of the second half of ' 900, he worked in Egypt as assistant to the choreographer Farouk Moustafa. The reference point of Oriental dance in the world, is considered among the few dancers belonging to the ancient school, known for the elegance and sinuousness of the movements, is present in the most important international events. Titrated to Honorary Maestra, judge by the arse. National Dance Masters, his technique text was hired for the preparation of the Masters. He is also a national coordinator of A.N.M.B.....

first edition - 11 january 2015


The first edition of the Raqs Sharqi contest, an oriental dance competition for the best talents in the south of Italy, arrives in Bari.
Judging these talents a technical jury composed of important masters of our region:
-Naima & Gamal Hassan of the Artistic Center of the Arts (Fasano) dancers, teachers, choreographers; Currently the only ones in the world to have obtained more diplomas for teaching, issued by the "Centre Artistique Zaza" in Paris on Oriental dance and Egyptian folklore;
-Daniela Saponara and Noemi Maggi (Bari), teachers and choreographers of the Cultural Association the Arab Phoenix and dancers of the Oriental Dance company Belly Etoiles;
-Francesca Malik and Francesca of the acts, foundresses, teachers and choreographers of the centre "Awalim Oriental Dances" (LECCE);
-Miriam Rizzo (Taranto), teacher, founder and artistic director of "Miss Shimmy Belly Dancer"
-Annarita Zakyiah, teacher, dancer, choreographer and president of the "Sentiero di Zakiyah" of Taranto, currently ' assistant of Marilena de Letteriis at the "Wings of Isis" (Bari)
-President of the Technical jury Natalia Conrad (Foggia) has been involved in Middle Eastern and Roma dance for years, constantly seeking a bridge between these disciplines and contemporary language. His latest project takes the name of DOMP (contemporary Oriental dance and improvisation)..
